This is a sales, estimating and project management job position for a small, full service glass company. Job sizes range from several hundred to $150k. Candidates must have verifiable experience in the glass industry (commercial glass, residential glass). Glazing experience would be extremely helpful. You must be willing to use your own vehicle and would be reimbursed based on miles driven during work hours. This is not a commission based position. It pays hourly and pay increases are based on sales volume. Evaluations are conducted yearly. All training is conducted in house and provided by the owner and other staff members. Applicants must be able to pass a mandatory drug screen (no exceptions made for THC) and background check.
Responsibilities:
- Use a computer to conduct daily work tasks by generating estimates, researching material costs, communicating with customers and coworkers, keeping yourself organized.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Collaborate with general contractor project managers, architects, and engineers to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Utilize glass estimating and bookkeeping software such as WinBidPro and Quickbooks to create detailed estimates.
- Review and interpret contract documents to identify scope of work, project requirements, and potential risks.
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather relevant data for estimating purposes.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include accurate cost breakdowns and pricing details.
-Take accurate field measurements on commercial and residential jobsites for the glass products we sell and install (shower doors and mirrors, replacement windows, window screens and window glass, commercial storefront systems, etc.) Requires proficient use a tape measure and various leveling devices.
-Transport, set up, maneuver and climb step ladders and extension ladders (if you have a fear of heights, this wouldn't be a good job fit for you).
-Order all materials needed for each job that you estimate and sell.
-Maintain an appointment schedule by being on time and communicating with customers and clients effectively
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the glass industry as a journeyman glazier and/or estimator.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy in estimating processes.
